From Acronis SCS’s earliest days, our CEO John Zanni placed high priority on bringing veterans into the fold. He sought to take advantage of the proven work ethic, leadership acumen, and mission-oriented attitude veterans bring to the table – not just because it is good business practice to do so, but because it is an opportunity to give back to those who have sacrificed much in protection of our nation’s freedoms.
In just over one year’s time, he has turned that vision for Acronis SCS into reality; today nearly thirty percent of our employees are veterans. They hail from different military services and hold a wide range of roles here (from IT and network administration to compliance and sales), yet they all share one thing in common – an exceptional value-add to our team.
Last month at our official ribbon cutting ceremony, we announced another way Acronis SCS intends to give back to our veteran and military community: the Acronis SCSVets initiative. The initiative, slated to begin programming in January, will help narrow Arizona’s cyber workforce shortage by empowering veterans, active duty military, and military spouses with the stacked certifications, skills, and resources they need to pursue a civilian cybersecurity career – at zero cost to them.
For those unable to attend (or those seeking a refresher), we’ve put together a short video explaining the initiative’s key features, including the in-person cyber certification trainings, quarterly in-person career skills workshops, and industry employer connections to which our participants will have access.
We hope you’ll take a moment to give it a watch here or check out the initiative’s page on our website. More than that though, we hope you will join us in thanking our nation’s military and veterans for their service and sacrifice. Not just today, but every day. Not just in words, but with actions.
