Acronis SCSVets Initiative Hits the Ground Running

Acronis SCSVets Fundraiser Blog Header

Thank You!

Thank you to all who made last night’s inaugural Acronis SCSVets Holiday Party and Fundraiser such a resounding success!

We were privileged to welcome key partners, officials, and community leaders to the celebration last night, and would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all individuals who have donated in support of this worthwhile cause. A special thank you to the event’s three-star sponsors Corsec, Acronis SCS, vCORE, and New Horizons; two-star sponsors The House Brasserie, Camelback Strategy Group, and the Arizona Veteran Art Program; and one-star sponsors Matellio, Yuma 50, and Silvereye Technologies.

At the event, we had the privilege of hearing from retired US Army chemical operations specialist Kathryn Roark – a member of Acronis SCSVets’ inaugural class – about the challenges of post-military job hunting and how the initiative is helping her pursue a substantive career with growth potential, not just a dead-end job. Acronis SCSVets is proud to be part of her journey, and we thank her for sharing her story.

Acronis SCSVets in a Nutshell

Acronis SCS prides itself on providing tangible, meaningful support to America’s veteran and military community. In fact, today nearly thirty percent of our employees are veterans or are part of the Department of Defense SkillBridge program. With the launch of a new charitable initiative, Acronis SCSVets, we’ve extended that support far beyond our office walls.

While veteran unemployment today is less than the national average, veteran underemployment remains a persistent problem. Too often we see individuals with tremendous training and leadership acumen entering the civilian sector in a job that falls far below their abilities, potential, and goals. That’s where Acronis SCSVets comes in, which seeks to narrow the cyber workforce shortage while providing America’s veterans and military spouses with the certifications and skills they need to succeed in the demanding field of cybersecurity.

In contrast to other cyber training programs out there, our initiative takes a tailored, veteran-specific approach, providing in-person cyber certification coursework, civilian workforce and interview prep, and personalized resume-building workshops – all at zero cost to our veteran and military spouse participants. But Acronis SCSVets goes beyond that. We are also working directly with partners in the IT and security industries – particularly other small- and medium-sized businesses without the resources to develop a robust veteran hiring program of their own – to ensure our graduates land in the right job at the right company.

We are proud to say our initiative has already been recognized by the White House as part of its Pledge to America’s Workers, which calls on employers of all sizes to provide US workers the opportunity to experience the American Dream. As part of that pledge, Acronis SCS and the Acronis SCSVets Initiative promise to provide more than 300 veterans, active duty military, and military spouses with the certificates, skills, and resources they need to pursue their dream career within its first five years of programming.

Why Support?

With one hundred percent of donations put toward participants’ certification costs, your support ensures we will never have to turn away a single veteran or military spouse seeking the right skills and certifications for a cybersecurity career. Please visit the Acronis SCSVets webpage for more information on how you can contribute in support of our veteran and military communities!
